Description

Afterglow Tropical Water Lily

Vibrant Color and Fragrance

The Afterglow tropical water lily brings bold color and gentle fragrance to ponds of all sizes. This eye-catching variety stands out for its vivid blooms and dependable growth habit. Pond owners often choose it to create a strong focal point in their water gardens.

The flowers open with rich deep pink tones. As the bloom matures, the color softens into shades of light orange and warm yellow. This natural transition creates a glowing, sunset-like effect on the water’s surface. Each bloom rises above the water, improving visibility. A light fragrance enhances the pond experience during warm afternoons and evenings.

Growth Habit and Pond Compatibility

Afterglow performs well in both small and large ponds. Its adaptable nature suits container ponds, backyard water features, and larger landscape installations. With proper sunlight, the plant produces frequent blooms throughout the growing season. This steady flowering keeps the pond visually engaging from late spring through early fall.

Foliage and Pond Benefits

The foliage balances the bright flowers with rounded green pads. These pads spread across the water’s surface and provide natural shade. Shaded water helps regulate temperature and supports overall pond health. The pads also offer fish a place to rest and hide.

Sunlight and Care Requirements

This tropical water lily prefers full sun for best results. Warm water supports strong growth and reliable flowering. In cooler climates, gardeners grow it as a seasonal plant. Warmer regions may support longer growth periods with proper care.

Routine maintenance stays simple. Regular fertilization supports vibrant blooms. Removing spent flowers keeps the plant neat and encourages new growth.

Why Choose Afterglow

The Afterglow tropical water lily suits both beginner and experienced pond keepers. Its fragrance, color changes, and flexible sizing make it a standout choice. Planted alone or combined with other aquatic plants, it adds warmth and elegance to any water garden.

The table below shows the estimated shipping and pick-up weeks for destinations to USA states. These dates can change depending on weather and how strong the plants are at that time.

For example, a wet spring will have many clouds leading to less sunshine. Thus, the plants may need a bit longer to grow strong enough for transplanting and transit. With the planet heating up, a warm spring may help the plants grow strong enough to ship before the dates in this table.
