Description

Benefits	The 'Bagdad' tropical water lily propagates well. It is slightly more cold tolerant than other tropical water lilies.
Appearance	Flowers: Wisteria star-shaped light-blue that are broad and flat. Stamens: Yellow central stamens and petioles. Leaves: Mottled with red, brown, and dark green beneath with purple stripes. Viviparous that forms plantlets attached to the mother plant. Sweetly fragrant.
Size	Flowers: Medium-sized. Petioles: Long enough to hold the blossoms above the lily pads. Spread: 2'-12'. Spread depends on growing environment.
Preferred Growing Conditions	8+ hrs/day direct sunlight. Calm water away from the moving water of a cascade or waterfall. Water Depth: 3"-2-ft deep at most. Start shallow to capture more sun and warmth . Then you can move it to a deeper part of your pond. Prefers to be planted 3'-4' from surrounding plants for the spread. New plants should be fertilized with higher nitrogen content to stimulate root growth. Then, higher phosphorous will be beneficial for the blooms. Trim dead parts to encourage more growth. Suited for medium and large water gardens. Viviparous.
