Pondmaster Net Covering 14 x 14 Feet
Danner Pondmaster pond nets and netting are used to keep water clean, protect fish from predators, and make general maintenance easier.
Key Benefits
- Debris and Leaf Control: Catches falling leaves, twigs, and wind-blown debris before they sink to the bottom, rot, and cause toxic sludge or heavy filter clogs.
- Predator Protection: Acts as a physical barrier against herons, cats, raccoons, and other animals that try to catch koi or pond fish.
- Fish Safety: Features soft, fish-safe nylon mesh and heavily padded rims that prevent scales or fins from getting scraped during handling.
- Durable Construction: Built with lightweight, heavy-duty aluminum handles and frames that resist rust and bend-resistance during use.
- Flexible Reach: Available in compact stationary sizes or telescoping handles that extend up to 6.5 feet to reach deep into water feature
Preparation
- Measure your pond: Ensure your netting size (such as 14′ x 14′ or 28′ x 28′) comfortably covers the entire water surface with an extra 6 inches to 1 foot of overhang around the perimeter.
- Clear the edges: Remove sharp sticks, debris, or obstacles around the border of the pond.
Setting Up a Support Structure (Optional but Recommended)
- Prevent sagging: Use sturdy stakes, PVC pipes, or a center float (like a sealed container or pond tent frame) to prop up the middle of the net.
- Avoid liner damage: Place support stakes or frames outside the flexible pond liner so you do not accidentally puncture it.
Installing the Net
- Unfold and drape: Unpack the tough nylon net and gently spread it across the entire surface of the pond and waterfall areas. Working with two people makes it much easier to keep it from dragging in the water.
- Anchor the edges: Pull the netting taut across the pond. Secure the perimeter using heavy landscape stones, landscape fabric lawn staples, or landscape pins.
- Safety check: Do not let the net sag deep into the water where wildlife, frogs, or fish could get tangled.
Maintenance
- Clear debris: Regularly sweep or blow off accumulated leaves and twigs from the top of the net so the weight does not push it down into the water
