Description
The Dwarf Papyrus Bog Plant is a compact, semi-aquatic perennial that enhances water gardens and container arrangements. This plant is characterized by its slender, green, triangular stems that culminate in distinctive umbrella-like clusters of foliage, adding an architectural element to aquatic landscapes. Typically reaching heights of 1 to 3 feet, it serves as a manageable and non-invasive alternative to the larger Cyperus papyrus.
‘Dwarf Papyrus’ Bog Plant thrives in USDA Hardiness Zones 9-11, the Dwarf Papyrus is often cultivated as an annual in cooler regions or kept indoors as a houseplant during winter. It flourishes in full sun to partial shade and requires consistently moist soil, ideally with the pot submerged 0-4 inches below the water surface. This plant propagates viviparously, producing new plantlets from flower heads that touch the water, a process that can be facilitated by floating a trimmed flower head upside down in water.

The table below shows the estimated shipping and pick-up weeks for destinations to USA states. These dates can change depending on weather and how strong the plants are at that time.
For example, a wet spring will have many clouds leading to less sunshine. Thus, the plants may need a bit longer to grow strong enough for transplanting and transit. With the planet heating up, a warm spring may help the plants grow strong enough to ship before the dates in this table.
