Introduced in the 1890's by the noted George Richardson of Lordstown, Ohio, from his establishment near the current location of Tricker's. You can read about George Richardson and M. Marliac in Tricker's 1101 Water Gardening Questions and Answers book sold here.
World famous M. Marliac's French business sold this water lily showing it's a true test of worthiness from an American hybridizer. After decades of growing acres of water lilies, George Richardson said "This … I consider the most perfect Water Lily in existence".
