When creating your dream backyard retreat, take into account the water depth required for different features. A shallow reflecting pool would be suitable. if you prefer a serene display and don’t plan to maintain aquatic plants.
However, if you desire a fountain or want to include both aquatic plants and animals, deeper water is necessary. The ideal water depth for water gardens varies depending on the type of plants you choose. Bog and shallow-water plants thrive in less than 6 inches of moist soil, while others prefer to be submerged deeper than 6 inches. For water fountains, ground pools should be 8 to 18 inches deep.
Large Fish Nets. These nets have heavy galvanized steel bows and painted hardwood handles. We use them at our nursery with our fish and scavengers. Have a 9″ by 16″ net. The choice of handle length is 20″ or 42″ depending upon your use.
