Description

This tropical water lily species is adapted for a small water harden such as a tub or a special place in your water garden pond. The flowers are 3 – 4 inches across and bear two rows of pale violet petals, yellow at the base. The stamens are purple, lighter toward the apex and primrose yellow at the base.

The circular mature leaves are dark green above and purplish on the underside. You’ll have blooms well into the fall in cooler water. ‘Colorata’ is good for semi-shade. The water lily can produce 8-12 open flowers on a single plant which was documented by famous hybridizer George Pring of the Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis, Missouri.

‘Colorata’ will make an attractive and lovely water lily in your water garden or tub.

This table shows the estimated shipping and pick-up weeks for destinations to USA states. These dates can change depending on weather and how strong the plants are at that time.

For example, a wet spring will have many clouds leading to less sunshine. Thus, the plants may need a bit longer to grow strong enough for transplanting and transit. With the planet heating up, a warm spring may help the plants grow strong enough to ship before the dates in this table.
