Preferred Growing Conditions

Annual in northern states and perennial in the warm snow-free states. Loves heat.
Plant about 2-ft apart in chalk, clay, loam or sand.
Terrestrial or saturated soil with 6" inches of water. Ensure the soil stays moist.
Tolerates acidic, neutral or alkaline water.
Remove dead flowers to encourage more to bloom.
In northern states during the winter months, the roots can be dug up to bring the plant indoors during he winter months. Place it in a sunny window with the roots in a container of water. Then, in late spring, return the plant to your pond.
Cannot withstand freezing.
