This ‘Lustrous’ water lily shows off large blossoms that are a satiny rose-pink shade, and cup-shaped. Its sepals are brown underneath and a deep pink inside. The brilliant yellow stamens form a thick cluster.
This water lily grows vigorously and readily seeds.

Description
The bloom of this ‘Lustrous’ water lily is large, perfect cup-shaped, with a host of deep rose-pink petals, while the center is closely packed with yellow stamens. There is a peculiar silvery sheen to the color, which gives a wonderful luster.”
Our 1922 catalog description in its introduction reads “A new variety of our own introduction. It is a distinct improvement over any known variety of pink water lily.
Today, the ‘Lustrous’ water lily still stands strong among the pink colored water lilies.
