Description

Water poppies are a unique flower whose roots are in the pond bottom and stems with their leaves and flowers emerge above the water’s surface. It’s a delicate and bright marginal plant for your pond or lake.

This aquatic plant, native to Central and South America, is free-flowering and prolific. William Tricker’s 1897 “The Water Garden” book describes this ‘Water Poppy’ as having cheery yellow flowers. When you see it in your water garden, you will agree.

Preferred Growing Conditions

Prefers shallow water about 6" deep but will grow in 12"-15" deep water.
