It is thought that this species of papyrus was at one time abhorred by the crocodile which led to the construction of the cradle of the infant Moses.

It will serve well as a tall background plant for pools and ponds.

Preferred Growing Conditions	6+ hrs/day direct sunlight. Plant a few inches below the soil. Shallow water and rich soil are best for this plant that can grow well in slightly moist ground. Best in marshy areas in rich alluvial soil or mud. Move to greenhouse before frost arrives.
Botanical Name	Cyperus papyrus per the 1895 Tricker's catalog. Also know as Papyrus antiquorum The Egyptian Paper Plant.
