The Black Ramshorn Snail is a prolific egg layer and useful in removing the algae or green scum that forms in the sunlight. It’s an excellent scavenger in any water garden pool or aquarium. This is perhaps one of nature’s best house cleaners
Melantho Snails with long spiral shells like the Horn of Plenty, are active hardy scavengers that will consume left over fish foods, algae and any decaying plants.
These snails are good for all water garden ponds and aquariums.
Melantho Snails will survive harsh winters.
The first or second season, the younger generation of the frog family will grow legs up to three inches long. These tadpoles will actively devour decayed matter and green algae. They are harmless to fish and plants. This native tadpole survives harsh winters.

This Snail Collection has different snails to consume various foods. This collection offers a variety of snails where each finds a special place in your pond and a true way to become familiar with nature’s clean up crew.
Large Fish Nets. These nets have heavy galvanized steel bows and painted hardwood handles. We use them at our nursery with our fish and scavengers. Have a 9″ by 16″ net. The choice of handle length is 20″ or 42″ depending upon your use.
The Calico Shubunkins are also known as Autumn Brocade Fish because their glorious colors are like the beautiful autumn foliage. Other names include Calico goldfish, Speckled goldfish, Harlequin goldfish, and Coronation fish.
With proper care in freshwater ponds, they can live 10-15 years or longer and reach up to 12-18″ long. Aquariums with limited volume will inhibit them from growing long. They prefer filtered water with a pH of 6-8.
This is a special blend for tadpoles and clams that has been used at our nursery for decades. Use a small amount and watch the tadpoles feed.
Feed once a day unless the water is clear. Clear water is an indication that scavenger debris food may be limited and the tadpoles and clams need to be fed. In that case, feed twice a day.
Goldfish have brilliant colors and are active. They are a good variety for garden ponds and indoor aquariums. Their beautiful markings come in black, white, red, orange, and silver. Goldfish eat mosquito larvae and other insects in their larval stages, helping to maintain ecological balance with aquatic plants in ponds.

Those of you who are familiar with toads know that these wonderful tadpoles will change to adults in the following weeks. The adult toad will consume a wide range of insects and love to live around water garden pools. A single toad can eat over 1000 insects per day, making them a friend to farmers and gardeners.

Fancy American Fantails are fun to watch as their tails float with the water currents. Their tail fins, also called caudal fins, are V-shaped and a double-tail fin. The Golden Orfe is an active pond fish with a streamlined body that has swift movement in the water garden pool and in fact is considered the fastest fish in the water garden pool. Calico Fantails are similar to the Calico Shubunkins or the Autumn Brocade Fish but have a divided tail giving them the name, Calico Fantails. Just like the Autumn Brocade Fish, the name reflects the fishes brocade pattern of glorious colors are like the beautiful autumn foliage, and even more varied. Blue is the predominating color, with mottled effects in red, gold, black, brown, lavender and white. Their active movement displays these colorings. The divided tail fin makes this fish a wonderful sight as it swims within the water garden pool. These fish make any water garden pool a most attractive sight.
