Protective Pond Liner Underlayment is recommended to add a protective ground barrier for the pond liner. After digging, especially if you encounter rocks, roots, or other objects, this light weight durable underlayment will protect the liner from settling damage. This underlayment is placed directly on the excavation prior to placing the liner. Select the amount of underlayment needed to cover the ground excavation. The liner will then set on top. You may need to section pieces to best cover the excavation.

Disappearing fountains are the trend these days. Place your water feature atop this buried pond and the water flows from the fountain into the ground where the pump resides to recirculate the water back to the top. This is suitable for any overflowing water feature where the water falls into the underground pond interior. The walls are 1.5-2" thick so compensate for that when designing your disappearing fountain.
About This Pond
These ponds are made for water features such as spray rings or water fountain statues, or to be simply used as a reflection pool. If you are considering using it as a water garden, then consider the depth of the pool.
If you are planning a fountain display in the “pond”, then do not grow water lilies near the “moving” water or disturbed water that is caused by the spray. Water lilies prefer calm, placid water which is why waterfalls should be installed away from your aquatics.
The minimum depth to sustain water lilies depends on the design. Water lilies can grow in “tub” gardens which we sell the containers to make tub gardens. Our Pygmy Lilies can easily grow in only a few inches of water over the surface of the crown (thus for depth you have add the pot size) and can easily grow in 12″ of water. The best plants would be the Dwarf Giant Papyrus, Hardy Shallow Water and Bog Plants and Water Hyacinths. Oh, and don’t forget the fish for bio-equilibrium. All you need is a crushed gravel and sand base — a concrete base is not needed. If installing on a solid base, such as pavers or concrete, you will need to place a 1″ sand layer over the concrete to ease the installation and leveling.

Patch or Seam Tape is sold per Foot. It’s a black rubber-like tape that comes in 6 inch widths. It will patch cuts and holes. This can be sued to seam small sections of liners to form a watertight seal. Must be applied to clean dry liner.
