The Victoria has always been a special aquatic plant. The photograph is from Tricker’s 1928 catalog and shows two children standing on the leaves of the Victoria in our historic greenhouses.

The huge Euryale ferox, also known as the ‘Gorgon Plant’, has huge pads that can grow 4′-5′ in diameter that are green with blood-red veins. The sharp thorns are along the top and bottom of the pads.
