Description

The ‘Delicatissima’ is with flowers of light pink. It was introduced at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair (also known as the Chicago Columbian Esposition) and received a medal. In 1894, it received a First Class Certificate at Boston.

The leaves are slightly crumpled around the margins and have a metallic luster on the upper surface. This is a superb night bloomer.

Tricker wrote of this plant in 1894 as “A delicate and choice flower of a distinct and pleasing carmine pink color; the foliage has a bronzy green luster. The plant is vigorous, yet moderate compared with some others. Desirable for all purposes and proved one of the best for cutting, and also for winter culture.”

Hybridized By: One?of the first water lilies introduced by William Tricker in 1893

This table shows the estimated shipping weeks for destinations to USA states. These dates can change depending on weather and how strong the plants are at that time. For example, a wet spring will have many clouds leading to less sunshine. Thus, the plants may need a bit longer to grow strong enough for transplanting and transit. With the planet heating up, a warm spring may help the plants grow strong enough to ship before the dates in this table. This applies to pick-ups a well as shipping.
